About College

Darul Hasanath Islamic College, an esteemed Islamic institution, has been affiliated with Darul Huda Islamic University since 2001 and achieved an A+ Grade in the 2020 UG Accreditation auditing. The institution operates under the direction of the Darul Hasanath Islamic Complex, led by President Sayyid Swadiq Ali Shihab Thangal, General Secretary K. N. Musthafa Haji and Principal Sayyid Ali Ba’alawi Thangal. Under their visionary guidance, the college has made notable and sustained contributions to both formal education and Da'wah (outreach) activities, actively promoting intellectual growth and community development.

Darul Hasanath Islamic Complex is an establishment active in rendering social services to the Muslim community that started with a girls’ orphanage in 1993 and has been actively in the field for more than three decades to the date. It is a dream come true of a visionary leadership that was led by the late Sayyid Hashim Ba'Alawi Thangal and a group of devoted personalities who dreamt of moulding a scholarly generation that integrates religious and ethical knowledge with material sciences and, for the purpose, established the esteemed institution of Darul Hasanath Islamic College.

The institutional vision and mission are anchored by three core formulas: Tha'leem, Tharbiya and Da'wa. To ensure these foundational principles are understood by all stakeholders, the institution utilizes systematic communication channels. The complete vision and mission statements are presented publicly on a display board and are also framed in every classroom, detailing their diverse features and concepts. Furthermore, the core formulas are actively conveyed to students and the wider community through public addresses at the masjid and other public halls. Within the span of time the students are given moral and ethical advices for the spiritual advancement. This helps in keeping up a well-disciplined personality within the students. Teachers are aligned with these objectives during staff-management meetings, and parents are formally engaged and informed through parent's meetings conducted consistently three times per year. This multi-tiered approach ensures maximum dissemination and integration of the institution's guiding principles across all operational levels.

The establishment of various institutions from Darul Hasanath Hifzul Qur’an college to a number of English-medium schools to Hasanath Medical Center was meant for nothing but the effective maintenance and development of the afore-mentioned campus that is affiliated to the prestigious Darul Huda Islamic University. In addition, multifaceted developmental plans are proposed and being carried out centred in Bengaluru at the demand of the complex’s management in order to ensure better economic stability for the campus. To ensure long-term financial stability, the college launched the "Bangalore Project”, a remedial initiative to acquire and manage rental properties in Bangalore. This strategic move aims to replace fluctuating revenue with a permanent, steady stream of rental income to support the institution's ongoing growth.

The management aims for a deep intellectual development for the students and thus provides well experienced and educated teachers along with high-end facilities including, but not limited to, digitalized classrooms, an extensive library with more than 11,000 books, a journal library featuring around 30 magazines, a digital lab with around 40 computers, a resource and science lab divided into 5 sub-divisions, a digital reading hub that offers subscription to international journals and digital libraries, a studio with ultra-modern facilities, an expansive dining area, and a couple of spacious playgrounds. For the ease of administration and accessibility, the campus is constituted in two blocks, namely the secondary block and the degree block, and the offices of Academic Co-ordinator, Students' Welfare Co-ordinator, and Outreach and Guidance Co-ordinator are set up in the former, and the administrative office, the principal’s room, the staff room, and the conference hall in the latter. Construction works of a new canteen building with better facilities are being carried on in the final stage.

It is with pleasure that the campus recalls its memory of having been awarded with A+ status in the past Darul Huda Accreditation, which considered the numerous facilities it offered. The achievement motivated the staff members and management of the campus to strive their level best in improving the academic level of its students in the years that ensued.

Another major achievement of the campus took place the previous year when it launched an outreach publication boosting initiative called "Mission 100" and crossed the professed limit. A modified version of the initiative still goes on by the name "Mission 2.0. Along with a novel sister initiative called "Mission Academic Article", which aimed for the publication of ISBN recognized academic journal articles and that too has proved to be a successful venture. It has to be noted with due consideration that the students of the campus took part in programmes ranging from regional seminars to international events like the Qatar Youth Summit, International History Conference and that they have completed more than 340+ online courses in different fields till the date.

In a nutshell, Darul Hasanath has been able to make an indelible mark in the curricular, co-curricular, social, and cultural activities of its students through long years of hard work and perseverance. Yet, it is assured of the fact that it has to get more done and therefore, as a timely response to the need of the hour, it is up to extending its helping hands beyond the state boundaries. In compliance with this awareness, it has set up a girls' campus in West Bengal whose professed objectives include providing the orphaned and destitute Muslim girls of the state with quality education and accommodation facilities. With activities spanning the afore-mentioned and others, Darul Hasanath Islamic Complex continues its efforts for the community's holistic development as an instance it provides some carrier orientations over public service exams like PSC or UPSC, a true testament to the great, magnanimous vision that our leader Sayyid Hashim Ba'Alawi Thangal held.

The campus has witnessed uncountable staff meetings and mentor meetings at regular intervals and the formulation of multifaceted projects aimed at the development of its student resource. It has also conducted annual educational exhibitions led by Career training professionals and career orientation sessions in various fields for students.

In the respect of improving the linguistic skills of the students, the campus offers them opportunities to write to Al-Midad, an Arabic magazine that it continues to publish since 2011 to The Evident a new English magazine initiative undertaken by the Department of Civilizational Studies of the campus and A Peer reviewed Journal published half yearly undertaken by Dept. of Hadith and related sciences, To learn French and German under specially designed courses offered by Hasanath Institute for Foreign Language (HIFL) continues to empower the academic endeavours of the students by organizing online and offline sessions with distinguished academicians such as Recep ?entürk, and arranging Institutional Visits (IV) to institutions of higher education such as the Azim Premji University Bangalore, the Jamia Nizamiyya University and others.

The campus’ students’ union, AHSAS, and two departments - the Department of Civilizational Studies and the Department of Hadith and Related Sciences – had been awarded with the awards for the Best Union and Best Departments of the previous year, as a recognition of their multidimensional activities assuring maximum degree students’ participation that range from regional seminars to international programmes. Throughout the past few consecutive years, the campus has been able to produce an impressive number of toppers who scored high in Darul Huda Public Examinations. In the last semester alone, more than 50 students scored more than 90% in marks.

Furthermore, the campus had been able to top the charts in the regard of writing and linguistic skills, to emerge champions in Aliya and Thaniya categories, and to contribute to the top three scorers in Aliya, Thaniya, and Ula categories in the Sibaq National Arts Fest, though it had to wrap up its run as 2nd runners-up in the final results. This total score in Sibaq arts fest touched its score in the previous edition of 360 points, a giant leap in progress and an indicator of the students’ perseverance and management and staff strong support.

As a conclusion, For over three decades, Darul Hasanath Islamic Complex has successfully realized its founders' vision of moulding a scholarly generation through the integration of religious and material education. By systematically embedding the core pillars of Tha'leem, Tharbiya, and Da'wa into every aspect of institutional life—from classroom displays to active stakeholder engagement—the institution ensures the holistic development and spiritual advancement of its students and the wider community.
