Annahda is an Arabic bimonthly magazine published from Sabeelul Hidaya Islamic College (SHIC), an undergraduate institute of the University. The magazine entertains a foremost position among the Arabic magazines published from the state Kerala. It plays a major role in enriching the heritage of Arabic in India and enhancing the interrelation with the two subcontinents, namely, India and Arabia.
Annahda was launched on August 2006 as a revolutionary leap in the history of Arabic language in Kerala and it has covered ten years of success and uninterrupted publication. The magazine aims at promoting the Arabic creations of non-native writers and introducing to the people of Kerala the intellectual discourses among the Arabs, unveiling the socio-political conditions of Muslim world. It makes creative intervention in various socio- cultural and religious issues. It includes sections of learning, discourses and reflections on current and newly emerging matters in literary and social world.
The releasing of debutant issue of Annahda Bimonthly was done by the late Panakkad Sayyed Muhammed Ali Shihab Thangal on August 2006 in the presence of many dignitaries. Annahda has been published among a wide range of its readers as it has been doing an undeniable service along with a creative touch in Arabic language and literature.
Dr. N.AMuhammed Abdul Khader, Professor Emeritus at University of Calicut serves as the Chief Editor of the Magazine, while Dr.Bahauddeen Muhammed Nadwi, Vice Chancellor of DHIU, heads the advisory board.
In 2012, the Magazine was recognized with the International Standard Serial Numbering (ISSN).
