Darul Uloom Islamic Da‘wa College

Darul Uloom Islamic Da‘wa College (DUIDC) is an affiliated undergraduate institution of Darul Huda Islamic University. The college is located at Thootha in Aliparamba Panchayat, Malappuram District, Kerala, and has been in continuous operation since 10 October 2009. The institution is patronized by Assasul Islam Sangam, the apex organization that has played a pivotal role in the educational, social, and religious advancement of the region for more than five decades.

The governance of the institution is vested in a Management Committee led by Hon. Sayyid Sadik Ali Shihab, Panakkad (President), Hon. Sayyid Basheer Ali Shihab, Panakkad (Acting President), and Hon. Nalakath Sooppy, former Minister for Education, Government of Kerala (General Secretary).

At present, DUIDC serves a total student population of 267 across the Secondary, Senior Secondary, and Undergraduate sections. The academic activities of the institution are carried out by 20 teaching staff members under the leadership of the Principal, C. K. Muhammed Swalih Hudawi, Thootha. Administrative and non-academic functions are supported by five non-teaching staff members under the supervision of the Manager, P. P. Muhammed Ali Master.

In the most recent accreditation exercise conducted in 2020, DUIDC was awarded a B++ grade. Among the seven dimensions evaluated, the institution demonstrated notable excellence in Co-curricular and Extra-curricular Activities, Value Systems, Institutional Innovations, and Social Impact. Continuous and systematic remedial efforts have been undertaken to enhance performance in the remaining three dimensions.

The core strengths of the institution include participative management practices, financial stability, a committed and competent faculty, motivated and ambitious students, cooperative parents, an engaged and aspiring alumni network, and a vibrant academic environment. However, as the institution functions within a pre-existing infrastructural and organizational framework, the full realization of stakeholder aspirations occasionally encounters structural limitations.

DUIDC has gained prominence for its academic excellence, research-oriented scholarship, widely circulated publications, and effective engagement through social media platforms. The Department of Arabic and Literature plays a significant role in this academic visibility by spearheading several scholarly and creative initiatives, including Thabasheer Monthly (a children’s Arabic magazine), Al-Maraya Campus Magazine, the Al-Baleegh Quiz Reality Show, and the Lauhat website. Additionally, the Ihyaul Huda Students’ Association (IHSA) actively coordinates a wide range of well-participated co-curricular and extra-curricular activities both within and beyond the campus.
