Academic Senate

Academic Senate

The Senate is the authority of the University to review the actions of the Syndicate and the Academic Council according to the Statutes, the Ordinance and the Regulations. The Senate has been fixed to be constituted every five years and consists of the following members:

• • The Chancellor
• • The Pro- Chancellor
• • The Vice-Chancellor
• • The Pro- Vice-Chancellor
• • The General Secretary of DH Managing Committee
• • The Treasurer of the Managing Committee
• • The members nominated by the Chancellor from the following:

• o Ten members from the Executive Committee of the Managing Committee
• o Members not less than 10% of the General Body of the Managing Committee
• o Five members having outstanding ability in academic/administrative fields.
• o Five Hudawis
• o Five Heads of the Departments of DHIU by rotation in the order of seniority or ability.
• o Two Principals of affiliated colleges of DHIU.
• o One member from each of the below mentioned organisation:

•  Samastha Kerala Jam’iyyathul Ulama (SKJU)
•  Samastha Kerala Sunni Mahallu Federation (SKSMF)
•  Samastha Kerala Sunni Mahall Federation of Malappuram District
•  Samastha Kerala Islamatha Vidyabyasa Board (SKIMVB)
•  Samastha Kerala Jam’iyyathul Muallimeen Central Council (SKJMCC)
•  Samatha Kerala Sunni Yuvajana Sangam (SYS)
•  Samasth Kerala Muslim Employees Association (SKMEA)
•  Samastha Kerala Sunni Students Federation (SKSSF)

• Three members of the Managing Committee of affiliated Colleges of DHIU nominated/elected from among themselves.
